Triton Digital’s Podcast Ranker for June 2023 has been released, with Hamish & Andy remaining at number one in both the Top 100 Ranker and Top 100 All-Australian Ranker.
The comedy duo racked up 985,688 monthly listeners and close to 2.1 million monthly downloads in June.
The rest of the top 10 also remained unchanged from the May rankings; Casefile True Crime was in second with 834,500 monthly listeners and a June-high of over 2.4 million monthly downloads.
Mamamia Out Loud saw 573,510 monthly listeners, Shameless was just behind it with 540,049 monthly listeners and The Imperfects remained in fifth with 481,975 monthly listeners.
ARN/iHeartMedia, LiSTNR (SCA) and Audioboom remained at first, second and third in the Top Publishers rankings, with ARN/iHeartMedia totalling over 20 million monthly downloads, nearly double the amount of the next nearest publisher.
ARN’s head of digital audio, Corey Layton, said: holding half of the nations top 10 podcasts is no easy feat.
“It wouldn’t be possible without our incredible partners and team, who continue creating content that Australians and brands are engaging with,” said Layton.
SCA executive head of LiSTNR Podcasts, Grant Tothill, said Australia’s digital audio listening now leads the world, and podcast audiences have set new records with the number of people listening to podcasts jumping to 43%, exceeding the US for the first time as the most advanced podcast market in the world.
“LiSTNR is Australia’s fastest growing entertainment brand, and our podcast audiences reflect and lead the industry-wide growth,” said Tothill.
“We have again eclipsed the 8 million monthly listeners to ensure we keep driving the LiSTNR podcast network reach and opportunity for advertisers. The continual growth of the podcast network is testament to the hard work of the entire team.”
